AE Carles Vallbona volleyball has already enrolled thirty girls with scholarships to participate in a new inclusion and integration project linked to sport. Once again, the club is committed to promoting sport with a collaborative Erasmus project with entities from other countries, with Germany, France, Italy, and the University of Vic.
The project started in September and the thirty girls come from a total of nine schools, between Granollers and La Roca del Vallès. All of them study between the 3rd and 4th year of Primary. “The aim is to integrate girls and make it easier for those families with difficulties, that their daughters can do competitive sport, in this case volleyball. Public aid is insufficient and that’s why we develop tasks to try to enable these girls to play sports”, explains the president of Carles Vallbona volleyball, Joan Carles Marín, who recalls that this is the second Erasmus project he has hosted in three years.
The registered girls are doing weekly training with specialized instructors and from January they will join the rest of the volleyball teams of the AE Carles Vallbona. “The scholarship is valued at 800 euros for two seasons. They train with us one or two days a week; but after the Christmas holidays, they will end up training with players from the club and at the end of the season some will do an exchange with the other entities of the project”, says Marín.
The club announced this new international project during the presentation of the 32 volleyball teams for the 2022-2023 season, which filled the Can Bassa Pavilion on Sunday, December 4. The sports club adds this campaign to its 25th anniversary and would like to commemorate it with a new promotion of the women’s senior team, which is on its way to being promoted to the First Catalana.
